Recent regulatory changes to the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) visa system will boost cruise Dubai’s cruise industry, according to Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

Effective from 1 August 2014, the new legislation introduces a multiple-entry tourist visa and fees system for cruise passengers and entry permits for medical tourists and their companions. It also allows travellers coming from source markets such as India, China, Brazil, Russia and South Africa to visit multiple Gulf countries with a single permit. The regulation was signed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
