Cunard Line kicked off its 175th anniversary celebrations in its homeport of Southampton, UK, on 3 May.

Returning to the UK after completing their respective three-month World Cruises, The line’s Three Queens – Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2 – met in the port for the fourth time in the line’s 175-year history.

To mark the occasion, Commodore Christopher Rynd, master of Queen Victoria, was joined on the ship’s red funnel by Captain Chris Wells, master of Queen Mary 2 and Captain Inger Klein Thorhauge, master of Queen Elizabeth and 18 Años Porno Cunard’s first female captain.

“This is the first time that the Cunard ships have been in Southampton since they set off on their World Cruises in January, so it’s great to have the opportunity to meet with my fellow captains,” said Commodore Rynd. “We rarely get together in this way, and it’s only the fourth time ever that these Three Queens have gathered here in Southampton. Today is a special day for Cunard, as the 175 anniversary celebrations are initiated here in our homeport.”

The line’s flagship, Queen Mary 2, then led Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria as all three ships sailed out of Southampton and into the River Solent together for the first time.

Queen Mary 2 then departed to start her transatlantic voyages from New York City in the US, while Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria left to start Mediterranean fly-cruises and Scandinavian and southern European sailings from St Peter Port in Guernsey, and Hamburg in Germany respectively.
