MedCruise’s 72 member ports handled 25.8 million cruise passenger movements and more than 13,700 cruise calls in 2014, representing more than 80% of the total cruise guest movements in the Mediterranean region.

MedCruise’s Cruise activities in MedCruise Ports: Statistics 2014 report indicated that cruise passenger movements at its ports have exceeded 25 million movements per year since 2011, marking a total 4.8% rise since 2010.

The top five ports by passengers were Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Venice, Balearics, Marseille, while the ports that handled the most calls included Civitavecchia, Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Balearics and Piraeus.

Speaking at Cruise Shipping Miami on 18 March, MedCruise president Carla Salvadό said that the cruise association and its member ports would work with destinations and other stakeholders to promote future growth.
