Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jade has resumed service with new restaurants, bars and redesigned public spaces and accommodation areas following a three-week dry dock as part of The Norwegian Edge investment programme.

Guests now benefit from two new restaurants – the 24-hour pub-style eatery O’Sheehan’s Bar & Grill and the poolside 1950s-style American diner named The Pit Stop.

Meanwhile, Moderno Churrascaria was moved to deck 13 and features a new glass door entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows, flooring, wall coverings and upgraded furniture. Additional seating has also been fitted to Cagney’s Steakhouse, which was redecorated with a new colour scheme, upgraded flooring, wall linings and a virtual fireplace. La Cucina, Norwegian’s signature Italian specialty restaurant, was modernised with updated décor and furniture, flooring, a decorative bar and a wine display wall. Teppanyaki, Norwegian’s Japanese hibachi grill restaurant, was enhanced with contemporary furnishings and fittings, while Jasmine Garden and the Garden Café were redesigned.

Norwegian Joy also offers a new Bliss Ultra Lounge nightclub on deck 7 and Sugarcane Mojito Bar on deck 13 adjacent to Moderno Churrascaria. Existing bar the Spinnaker Lounge was also completely redesigned with fresh flooring and window treatments, decorative chandeliers, reupholstered seating and refurbished bars with mosaic tiles and LED lighting.

All staterooms were enhanced with new carpets, furniture, flat screen TVs, larger headboards with USB charging outlets and artwork. The suites in The Haven, Norwegian’s luxury ship-within-a-ship complex were also renovated with new finishes to walls and ceilings, and updated flooring, soft goods and drapery. In addition, the Haven Courtyard was refreshed, while the pool was refinished and furniture, artwork and four cabanas were added to the pool area.

Other highlights include a custom-designed marquee chandelier, modern finishes, updated flooring, enhanced reception and shore excursion areas, a large TV screen and banquette seating in the Atrium. The main pool deck now features better lighting fixtures, flooring and tiling around the pool and whirlpools.

Norwegian also added TechnoGym fitness equipment and rubber flooring in the gym, noise reducing mats in the children’s Splash Academy, and individual digital monitors and larger photo display panels in the Photo Gallery.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Norwegian Jade back into the fleet with her new stylish finishes and modernized onboard atmosphere,” said Andy Stuart, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “It is our sincere goal to deliver a fantastic vacation experience across our entire fleet, and this update to Norwegian Jade is an opportunity for us to enhance the ship’s hardware to match the fantastic guest experience our hardworking crew delivers to our guests every day.”

Norwegian Jade will continue to sail Western Caribbean cruises from Tampa, Florida until 30 April, when she will sail across the Atlantic to offer her first-ever complete season from Southampton, UK and Hamburg, Germany. She will sail itineraries to the Norwegian Fjords, as well as Norway and the North Cape.
