Oceania Cruises’ Riviera now offers a new coffee bar, a lounge with sea views, three Owner’s Suites and enhanced guest accommodation following an extensive dry dock in Marseille, France.
Following the renovation, which was part of the US$100 million OceaniaNEXT programme, Riviera has been fitted with the Bar Istas lounge. Located on Deck 14, the venue is decorated with a silver-grey and sea green colour palette that is accentuated by gold, high-gloss ebony and white marble accents.
Meanwhile, all 124 Penthouse Suites, 200 Concierge staterooms and 244 Veranda staterooms have been redecorated with a new wenge walnut panelling, as well as carpets, contemporary fabrics and upholstered headboards in tones of espresso, caramel and ivory.
Created by Los Angeles-based company Trevor R. Howells Interior Design, the three Owner’s Suites have been furnished exclusively with furniture, soft furnishings and fabrics and upholstery exclusively from US-based designer Ralph Lauren. All the suites reflect Ralph Lauren’s passions for “sailing, Hollywood glamour and timeless, classical beauty” and are outfitted with the company’s signature navy, white, crème and camel colour palette. .
In each suite, the foyer now has floor-to-ceiling windows dressed with Ralph Lauren Home Grimaldi-weave sail fabric, a limestone and black cabochon inset floor, walls with inset Georgian wood panelling, a mahogany and quartzite bar, and a self- playing ebony piano. The living room has deep-navy sectional sofas with saddle-suede accents and a mahogany Lounge Moderne chair upholstered in navy and white Super-Yacht Stripe. Meanwhile, the dining room has a Barrett Knurled chandelier and a Mayfair dining table and the bedroom has a Cote D'Azure king-size bed, Mayfair Bergere side chairs upholstered in Sutton Suede Doe, and nickel-trimmed lighting accents. The wraparound teak veranda features custom-crafted pieces exclusive to Oceania Cruises.
“With the evolution of OceaniaNEXT, this was a great opportunity to not just enhance the guest experience aboard Riviera, but to elevate it through the addition of surprising new elements,” said Bob Binder, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises.
Riviera’s sister ship, Marina, will undergo a similar refurbishment in May 2020.
