Design consultancy 20.20 has created two new dining experiences for Thomson Cruises’ latest ship, Thomson Discovery, which will launch this summer.

Situated on the 1,830-passenger vessel’s pool deck, Snack Shack is a casual dining space that serves ‘festival-style’ street food. Guests can eat in oversized deckchairs or at timber picnic benches, 3gp porno fixed tables and in brightly coloured beach huts that double as dining booths and bear names of destinations the ship will visit. The 20.20 team has used linear graphics throughout to reflect traditional deckchair stripes.

“It may be a subtle nod to the Great British holiday, but Snack Shack is an international experience,” said Kevin Paintin, client director at 20.20. “You’re eating grill foods such as quesadillas and nachos, looking out at the tropical scenery, and all from the comfort of a traditional beach hut. Thomson is a go-to brand for British espanol sexo gratis holidaymakers, and we wanted to create a personality to reflect that. Snack Shack creates the relaxed informality of a street food eatery, but with a hint of Britishness.”

20.20 has also created a new contemporary Italian dining concept for the ship’s two-storey main restaurant, which has been rebranded as Gallery 47˚ in reference to the location where the ship was built. Although the team keept the existing food islands, it has used glass dividers to break up the vast area and has painted the lower level in different shades of blue to represent the ocean at both day and night. The upper level features sunset shades of orange, red and pink.

“The venue presented a very different challenge to Snack Shack,” said Paintin. “As it was such a large existing area for a high volume of people, we couldn’t alter the space as espanol videos sexo much. The existing food islands had to remain in place and we decide to reduce the larger tables of eight and ten to tables of four and six, creating a less traditional approach to dining in the main restaurant. Despite the challenges, we’ve added a softer, more discerning touch to create more definition and intimacy.”

20.20 has also worked on a number of other experiences onboard Thomson Discovery, which will be unveiled before the ship officially launches in 2016.
