American Queen Voyages is expanding culinary offerings across its fleet to provide regionally inspired cuisine with the help of its culinary ambassador Regina Charboneau.
Guests sailing on the line’s ships in North America will be offered menus with dishes that reflect the destinations they will visit and be made from locally sourced ingredients.
Each menu will be tailored to the specific itinerary. For example, menus on the Lower Mississippi River are inspired by New Orleans culture and the Sicilian and German influence in the region and feature dishes such as seafood gumbo, chicken pontalba, Lobster Rockefeller and more.
“Guests are in for a treat with our new menus,” said Charboneau. “The revitalised culinary programme brings the culture of each region to life. In the Pacific Northwest, guests can expect Chinese and Native American influences. While on the Lower Mississippi River, guests can enjoy Cajun and Creole flavours.”
Furthermore, the line will offer its new ‘Culinary & Cocktails’ themed cruise alongside its wine and bourbon cruises to provide more immersive culinary experiences. These sailings will feature special guests, cooking demonstrations, cocktail tastings, viticulture seminars, culinary competitions and unique land excursions.
