American television host Meredith Vieira has been named as the godmother of Avalon Waterways’ newest ship, Avalon View. She will christen the new ship in a ceremony at Ybbs, Austria, on 6 April 2020.
As one of the cruise line’s Suite Ships, Avalon View will feature two decks of panorama suites with ceiling-to-floor windows that open to create an 11-foot wide balcony.
“In our search for the perfect godmother for the Avalon View, we were inspired by Meredith Vieira,” said Pam Hoffee, managing director of Avalon Waterways. “We could not be happier to celebrate Meredith and her many accomplishments when she honours us as godmother, christening the Avalon View.”
Following the ceremony, the ship will join the Avalon Waterways fleet to sail cruises along the Danube River in 2020.
