Norwegian Cruise Line showed the first images of its four new Project Leonardo ships at Seatrade Cruise Global on 15 March.

To be delivered by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, the four 140,000gt ships will each accommodate around 3,300 guests and build on Norwegian’s Breakaway-Plus class ships. In addition to energy efficient systems, the vessels will feature a host of innovations, which will be unveiled at a later date.

“We are looking forward to this exciting new generation of ships,” said Christian Böll, managing director of EMEA at Norwegian Cruise Line. “The new breath-taking design will offer our guests a flexible onboard experience with an incredible array of offerings and further integrates inside and outside spaces, so they feel more connected with the sea.”

Norwegian also has the option to order two additional Project Leonardo ships to be delivered in 2026 and 2027.
