Silversea’s Silver Cloud has embarked on her first-ever expedition cruise following a US$40 million transformation into an ice-class expedition ship at Palumbo Shipyards.
Departing from Buenos Aires in Argentina on 15 November, Silver Cloud will spend 16 days exploring Antarctica.
“We are proud to celebrate this momentous occasion when the ship that launched Silversea on a path to redefine luxury travel now embarks on a new path to redefine expedition cruising,” said Roberto Martinoli, Silversea’s CEO.
Following her first season in Antarctica, Silver Cloud will trace a path up Africa’s western coast to Northern Europe and the Norwegian Arctic, where she will spend the summer sailing in the Norwegian fjords. The ship will then offer a series of expeditions to Iceland, Greenland, Canada and Central and South America, before she returns to Ushuaia, Argentina for another season of Antarctic expeditions.
