AD Associates has completed a refurbishment of Crystal Cruises’ 980-guest luxury cruise ship Crystal Serenity, upgrading the public spaces and eateries.

The refurbishment, which took place in a four-week drydocking at the Lloyd Werft yard in Bremerhaven, Germany, following the award-winning refurbishment of Crystal Serenity’s sister ship, Crystal Symphony in 2017.

The Stardust Club has been updated with new lighting, technology and reupholstery, as well as a revised seating area that now hosts the Stardust Supper Club, accommodating up to 108 guests each evening.

According to Crystal Cruises, The Palm Court underwent the most extensive uplift. “It was important for us to stay true to Palm Court’s elegant identity whilst also transcending the space in line with Crystals vision of contemporary luxury,” said Nicola Preece, design director at AD Associates.

The stage has been relocated to offer in-the-round seating, and the previous stage has become a food and beverage space offering fresh leaf teas and pastries for an afternoon tea experience. The space has also been upgraded with a modern bar and new furnishings such as wingback chairs and footstools.

The Crystal Dining Room has been replaced with Waterside, a contemporary space featuring a chandelier and marble flooring, and Tastes has been transformed into the Silk Kitchen & Bar, serving Asian cuisine.
