Adam Goldstein, president and COO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., is to become chairman of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) on 1 January 2017.
Goldstein, who has been part of the FCCA Executive Committee for more than a decade, will continue to participate in FCCA meetings and events to ensure cruise lines and destination stakeholders work together to achieve mutual benefits.
“The cruise industry today is now a global industry player, and under Micky's leadership, the FCCA has strengthened its relationships with the industry and our Caribbean and Latin American partners,” said Goldstein. “I am extremely proud to take over the chairmanship of the FCCA, and my main goal is to continue on this path by making sure the region is prepared to face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in this highly competitive and globalised environment.”
The leadership change was announced by current chairman Micky Arison at the FCCA Cruise Conference & Trade Show, held 26-30 September in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Arison, who is also chairman of Carnival Corporation, served as FCCA chairman between 2000-2010 and then again from January 2015. Since 2015 alone, he has helped to add new members and benefits to the FCCA Platinum Membership, rebranded the FCCA's quarterly magazine, Travel & Cruise, and expanded the partnership between the FCCA and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
“I am honoured to have served as FCCA Chairman for a total of more than a decade," said Arison. “During this span, I have watched the growth of not only the Association, but also the partners we serve, and I know that Adam Goldstein will continue this mutual growth.”
