All Leisure Group – the travel company that owns cruise lines Swan Hellenic and Voyages of Discovery – has ceased trading after selling off many of its brands.

Both Voyages of Discovery and Swan Hellenic cancelled New Year cruises at short notice over the festive period and ABTA has confirmed that 7,000 forward bookings have been cancelled, affecting 13,000 passengers.

Around a third of the future bookings are ex-UK cruises that are financially protected by ABTA, while customers who booked a flight and cruise package will be protected under the CAA ATOL scheme.

In December 2016, All Leisure Group also sold its Scotland-based Hebridean Island Cruises brand to a consortium of trade a group of investors. Earlier this week, the group’s tour operator brands – Just You and Travelsphere – were acquired by a subsidiary of Canadian travel company G Adventures.
