Royal Caribbean International’s ship Allure of the Seas is to undergo a refurbishment estimated to cost over $100 million, as part of the cruise line’s Amplified programme. The ship will offer guests over 35 ways to dine and drink, as well as new adventure activities, when it re-enters service in Europe in April 2025.

The reimagined pool deck will include resort-style pools, new casitas, in-pool loungers, daybeds and more. ‘Tots and tweens’ pools featuring slides, water cannons, fountains, pools and whirlpools, plus two drench buckets. Cyclone and Typhoon racing waterslides and the SuperCell champagne bowl will also be installed.

Following its debut on Utopia of the Seas, the Pesky Parrot tiki bar will be added to Allure of the Seas, serving fruit-based cocktails made with rum, tequila and gin, alongside frozen drinks. Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar, which also features onboard Wonder and Utopia of the Seas, will offer diners Southern comfort food and live country music.

Several other Royal Caribbean International favourites will be added to the ship, including the rock climbing tower, FlowRider surf simulators, the 10-storey Ultimate Abyss, Apollo 18: Lunar Landing Royal Escape Room, teen space Social298, Schooner Bar, the Bow & Stern English pub, Giovanni’s Table, American steakhouse Chops Grill, and the air, ice, water and stage.

As part of the refurbishment, new Ultimate Panoramic Suites will be created above Allure of the Seas’ bridge. These suites will offer guests 200-degree ocean views.

Allure of the Seas will sail seven-night western Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona, Spain, from April 2025, with itineraries calling at Provence (Marseille) in France, Florence/Pisa (La Spezia) and Rome in Italy, and the Spanish island of Mallorca. From November 2025, the ship will homeport at Fort Lauderdale in Florida where it will sail six- to eight-night eastern Caribbean and The Bahamas itineraries.

“From the new Icon and Utopia of the Seas to now the more than $100 million transformation of Allure of the Seas, we’ve upped the ante threefold on the different ways vacationers can get away and make memories with Royal Caribbean,” said Jay Schneider, chief product innovation officer at Royal Caribbean International. “Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travellers love. Between new favourites, like the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, and experiences that unlock core memories time and time again, from an incredible pool deck to an unmatched combination of thrills and ways to chill, Allure will have even more of everything that makes it a standout favourite.”
