Turnkey provider Almaco has completed a catering modernisation project onboard Holland America Line’s (HAL) Westerdam.
During the project, Almaco’s team refurbished galley areas by adding flight-type and rack-type dishwashers to the pot washing area on Deck 9 and replaced various catering equipment across the vessel. To access the pot washing area, Almaco had to cut a hole in the bulkhead, which meant that the interiors in the passenger dining room on the other side of the bulkhead had to be replaced too.
“The collaboration between HAL and Almaco made this project a success,” said Herve Touzard, deputy president of the life cycle division at Almaco. “The project went smoothly and according to plan, we at Almaco would be happy to continue the collaboration and have future projects with HAL.”
Almaco carried out the work in February 2023 while the ship was in dry dock in Singapore.
