American Cruise Lines has now begun its 2021 season, with the first six of its 13 ships now operating in eight different states around the USA.

The cruise line was the first to resume operations in the country when Independence sailed from Savannah, Florida, on 13 March, and is the only cruise line operating on the East Coast. The entire fleet is scheduled to resume sailing in all regions of the USA before the end of the spring.

The cruises feature a regimen of new safety protocols, including pre-embarkation testing and medical staff onboard all cruises. The ships are also operating at a reduced capacity to provide additional space onboard.

“We are proud to have been the first line back on the water in the USA,” said Charles B. Robertson, president and CEO of American Cruise Lines. “As the only cruise line visiting 30 states, we have taken great care to resume cruises safely in each region by working closely with state and local partners. The popularity of small ship domestic cruising was stronger than ever before the pandemic and 2021 demand is already at new record levels.”
