American Cruise Lines will sail to more ports onboard an increased number of ships in 2025, as well as offering eight new itineraries.

The cruise line will sail 50 different itineraries on 21 small cruise ships and riverboats in 2025 calling at 125 ports across 35 US states, including Port Canaveral and West Palm Beach in Florida; Portsmouth in New Hampshire; Cleveland in Mississippi; Port Royal in South Carolina; Alexandria in Virginia; Lewiston in Idaho; Madison in Indianna; and Sag Harbor and Albany in New York.

The eight new itineraries will include voyages on the Mississippi River, the Columbia and Snake Rivers, the Potomac River and the Hudson River.

The 51-day ‘Great United States’ cruise will be the longest river cruise in the USA, sailing from Portland in Oregon to Boston in Massachusetts and offering passengers the chance to explore 15 states. The cruise line is also offering the extended 36-day ‘Civil War Battlefields’ cruise from New Orleans in Louisiana to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; passengers can explore 12 states and 20 Civil War battlefields. Both of these cruises include sailing onboard three different ships and riverboats and feature onboard experts and local guides.

The nine-day ‘Maine Coast & Harbors cruise’ itinerary sails between Portland and Bangor in Maine. From summer 2025, American Cruise Lines will also offer eight-day ‘Hudson River Summer Classic’ cruises, sailing between New York City and Albany, New York.

An eight-day ‘Potomac River & Chesapeake Bay’ cruise is being introduced, sailing between Baltimore in Maryland and Washington, D.C. American Cruise Lines is the only cruise line to call at the capital of the USA, allowing guests to disembark and explore its landmarks during their voyage. Also within the region the cruise line offers an 11-day ‘American Revolution’ itinerary and an eight-day ‘Chesapeake Bay’ cruise.

American Cruise Lines has also designed a longer itinerary to enable passengers to explore more of Florida. The 15-day ‘Grand Florida Coast & Keys’ cruise sails between Amelia Island and St. Petersburg, Florida. This includes an overnight visit to Key West and explorations of Dry Tortugas and Everglades National Parks. Also new for 2025 in the region is the nine-day ‘Southeast Sea Islands’ cruise, which is similar to the cruise line’s former ‘Historic South & Golden Isles’ itinerary with the addition of more shore excursions and an included hotel stay in Charleston, South Carolina or Amelia Island.

In 2025, American Cruise Lines will operate five riverboats sailing 12 itineraries on the Mississippi River and tributaries, from eight to 22 days in length. A new 12-day ‘Mississippi Explorer’ cruise will sail between New Orleans in Louisiana and Memphis, Tennessee. The itinerary will include new port calls in Tunica and Cleveland, Mississippi. A new 16-day ‘Grand Ohio River’ cruise will sail between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and St Louis in Missouri.

Five riverboats in the American Cruise Lines’ fleet will sail the Columbia and Snake Rivers in 2025, including a new seven-day ‘Columbia River Gorge’ cruise, roundtrip from Portland in Oregon.

American Cruise Lines has extended a number of its National Parks itineraries, as well as doubling its capacity in Alaska in 2025. The cruise line will deploy its 170-passenger ship American Constitution to the West Coast; it will be joined by sister ship American Constellation to sail the cruise line’s five Alaksa itineraries from May to September 2025.

In 2025, two new 125-passenger Patriot-class ships, American Patriot and American Pioneer, will join the fleet. Both feature five decks and 56 staterooms and suites with private balconies. In 2026, American Maverick and American Ranger and new riverboat American Encore will also join the American Cruise Lines’ fleet.
