River cruise and tour operator APT is to refurbish its Mekong river ship AmaLotus prior to her 2016 season.

The renovation is scheduled to start in May 2016 and will be complete in time for AmaLotus to begin sailing in July 2016. Following the refit, the vessel will offer 54 balcony suites, a new private dining room for 16 guests, a spa and gym and a French-inspired Le Viet Nam Café situated on the Sadec Deck, which will serve morning and afternoon tea.

Chef and TV personality Luke Nguyen has designed the new menu for the private dining room, which will seat 16 guests. The ‘Indochine by Luke Nguyen’ menu will provide all guests with the opportunity to enjoy a six-course degustation dinner. In addition, guests will be invited to enjoy a ‘Signature Welcome Dinner’ designed by Nguyen on their first night.

Nguyen will also join AmaLotus’ 29 July, 9 September and 2 December departures to prepare a Vietnamese dinner for the first night of each cruise and host a ‘get to know Luke’ session on the third day.

AmaLotus will sail itineraries to Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, China and India.
