Azamara Journey emerged from Singapore’s Sembawang shipyard on 14 January with the signature ‘Azamara Blue’ on its hull and renovated public spaces, after an eight-day drydock.
Journey is the second of Azamara Club Cruises’ 694-passenger vessels to undergo a refit, highlighting the cruise line’s reputation as a European boutique hotel-style vessel.
The shipwide refurbishment includes new furniture and mattresses for suites and staterooms, refreshed furniture, upholstery, carpets, flooring and pool surfaces. The spa and fitness areas have also been enhanced with a new steam room, showers and the latest Life Fitness cardio equipment. Many of the public areas have been redecorated with a neutral colour palette in order to create a sleek, contemporary look throughout the ship.
Quest’s entertainment facilities have been improved with the expansion of the Casino Bar and the addition of new furniture. Guests can also visit the new caviar and champagne bar in the speciality restaurant, Aqualina, as well as experiencing the improved Chef’s Table service in other dining areas.
Passengers can enjoy more inclusive amenities, such as integrated gratuities for staff and selected complimentary soft drinks, as well as complimentary red and white boutique wines with lunch and dinner.
From the beginning of each ship’s European 2013 season, individual guests onboard every Quest and Journey voyage will be offered a free AzAmazing Evening event, so they can participate in bespoke and authentic travel experiences during their journey.
Azamara Journey will continue on its Asia cruise season, departing from Singapore for a 13-night round-trip of Indonesia.
