French cruise port Rouen welcomed a three-day call from Nippon Yusen Kaisha’s Asuka II from 26-28 May.

Rouen was the only French port the ship visited as part of its 20th Anniversary World Cruise. While in the city, 400 passengers visited The Palace of Versailles in Paris and 340 stayed for a gala dinner, returning to the ship at 2 am. After departing the port, Azuka II sailed to Ponta Delgada in the Azores and then headed to New York, US.

Rouen is a popular attraction for Asian operators and their passengers, particularly for those from Japan where Azuka II is based, due to its proximity to Monet’s Garden at Giverny and the art museums in both Rouen and Paris. The port is also becoming increasingly popular for operators wanting to offer overnights and extended and evening stays in Paris.
