Azul Destinations will develop a $250 million cruise port and resort called Calypso Cove at South Long Island in The Bahamas.

The port will host up to 13,000 cruise passengers per day and over 750,000 guests per year.

The resort will feature Black Pearl Lagoon at its centre, with swimming pools, gardens and water sport activities on offer for guests. It will also feature shops, a market, restaurants and bars.

The development was agreed by Phil Davis, prime minister of the Bahamas, and other cabinet ministers on 6 October 2022 and construction will begin at the end of 2023.
