Isefjord, the first passenger ferry built in Bangladesh for Danish operator Hundested Rorvig Faergefart, has been certified to BV class by Bureau Veritas.

The 51-metre ship, which was constructed at the Western Marine Shipyard in Chittagong, Bangladesh and delivered to its operator in February, meets all the Danish Maritime Authority requirements and can now fly the Danish flag.

The fully automated, double-ended vessel can accommodate 147 passengers and 28 vehicles and can be operated by two crew members from the bridge. The vessel has two main propulsion systems, two remote control systems, two engine rooms and two sets of other essential machinery, while its optimised hull design improves propulsion efficiency. It also has an impressed current cathodic protection system to prevent corrosion, as well as an impressed current anti-fouling system to minimise marine growth.
