Busy year for Charlottetown

Canada’s Historic Charlottetown Seaport is set for a busy season in 2014.

Opening with a call from Holland America Line’s (HAL) Veendam on 8 May, the port will welcome around 133,370 passengers and crew in 2014. HAL, which is the port’s largest cruise client, will account for 47 of the 64 ships scheduled to call in Charlottetown this year.

“Following such a great cruise season in 2013, we are thrilled to be maintaining such strong numbers,” said Corryn Morrissey, Charlottetown Harbour Authority’s manager of marketing and communications. “Having the opportunity to welcome ships during the summer months is a great addition to an already successful industry.”

Charlottetown’s season will end in November with a visit from Royal Caribbean International’s Legend of the Seas as part of her 12-night Canada and Bermuda repositioning cruise.
