The BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) has refurbished the West End Ferry Terminal in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
As part of the renovation, which started in February, BVIPA made a number of infrastructural alterations to improve passenger flow and operational efficiency.
BVIPA moved the customer service counters outside the terminal, constructed a departure hall, added more seating in the drop-off area and created new security checkpoints for patrons who have pre-purchased tickets. A cover was also fitted over the waiting area for passengers travelling to and from Jost Van Dyke.
“We have met our overall objective to create a safer, more comfortable, functional environment for both Virgin Islands residents and visitors,” said Al Henly, deputy managing director of BVIPA. “The recent works are also a temporary solution until the BVIPA moves to establish the new West End Ferry terminal.”
