Carnival Cruise Line is to launch a new Fly2Fun air programme to make it easier for guests to book more convenient and better value flights for their cruise holidays.

The flexible programme allows guests to customise their air reservations by choosing their preferred air carrier and departure point, a specific flight schedule and type of aeroplane accommodation, such as coach or business class. Flights can also be customised for those who wish to extend their vacation with a pre- or post-cruise stay.

Fly2Fun also includes the Flight Protection Programme, which ensures that guests will be flown to the next port of call to begin their cruise if they miss their departure due to airline, mechanical or weather-related issues. Carnival will cover air, hotel, transportation and meal costs for guests to meet the ship in the next port of call.

“Our new Fly2Fun programme is a convenient tool that saves our guests valuable time when booking their flights while offering attractive features like the Flight Protection Programme that provides peace of mind knowing we’ll fly them to the next port should they miss their cruise,” said Vicky Blanch, Carnival’s director of travel operations.

Guests can either opt for a Flexible Air ticket to book travel on major carriers up to four days prior to sailing and take advantage of the ‘Book Now – Pay Later’ feature where the air travel payment is taken with the final cruise payment. Using this option also means that guests are not charged if they make modifications outside of 60 days before departure. Alternatively, they can choose the Restricted Air option where tickets are non-refundable and fees must be paid immediately.
