Carnival Cruise Line will trial Daon’s VeriFly application to expedite the check-in and boarding process at US homeports from 29 January 2022.

Already widely used by airlines, VeriFly allows guests to upload their proof of their Covid-19 vaccination status and testing information for verification before they travel, thereby streamlining the check-in experience at ports. It will be piloted by guests boarding Mardi Gras at Port Canaveral in Florida, USA.

The solution will allow Carnival to continue operating under its current vaccination and pre-embarkation testing protocols, whilst making the embarkment process as smooth as possible. Pre-embarkment testing is especially required for guests travelling on three- to four-day itineraries.

Carnival currently has 19 of its 22 US-based ships operating, with the latest resuming service from Charleston in South Carolina, USA, on 13 January 2022.

Testing sites to support short itinerary cruises will be phased in and announced by the end of January 2022.
