Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Magic is to be fitted with various new dining venues and bars during an extensive multimillion-dollar drydock between 21 February and 3 March 2016.

The 130,000gt vessel, will emerge with Guy’s Burger Joint, a poolside, handcrafted burger venue developed in partnership with Food Network TV star Guy Fieri; the poolside Caribbean-themed RedFrog Rum Bar; the Mexican-inspired BlueIguana Tequila Bar; a vintage-themed cocktail ‘pharmacy’ Alchemy Bar; and Pizzeria del Capitano, an expansion of the line’s Cucina del Capitano family-style Italian eatery.

“Carnival Magic is already a ground-breaking ship – she was the first to feature our popular Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant, the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub and SportSquare outdoor recreation facility – and with these new features we’re making this spectacular floating resort even better,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Following this extensive refurbishment, Carnival Magic will offer even more exciting on-board choices for travel agents to market to their clients.”

Following her drydock, Carnival Magic will continue to sail her seven-day schedule from Galveston, Texas until 10 April, when she will reposition to Port Canaveral, Florida. Once at her new homeport, the vessel will operate a three-day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas and then start her year-round, seven-day Caribbean cruises on 23 April.

Carnival Magic will offer two weeklong itineraries, including a western Caribbean route featuring Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; Belize; and Mahogany Bay, Roatan. The eastern Caribbean voyage will take guests to St. Thomas; San Juan, Mexico; Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands; and either Nassau or Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic.
