Carnival Miracle is to offer Carnival Cruise Line’s first-ever 14-day Alaska roundtrip from Long Beach, California in September 2017.
Part of the line's Carnival Journeys cruise enrichment series, the itinerary will take place from 2-16 September and enable guests to visit seven destinations. These will include the Alaskan ports of Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Sitka, as well as Vancouver in British Columbia. Guests will also spend a full day in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Glacier Bay and make Carnival’s maiden visit to Icy Strait Point.
Available shore excursions will include helicopter flightseeing, rainforest canopy tours, hiking, canoeing and kayaking expeditions, and alpine lake snorkelling. Guests will also be able to enjoy local entertainment and cultural opportunities at various ports, and sample local Alaskan cuisine while onboard the vessel.
“A Carnival Alaska cruise is like no other and with this exciting new 14-day Carnival Journeys adventure, combined with the wide variety of seven- and eight-day voyages, we're offering guests an incredible array of opportunities to get an up close and personal look at this beautiful sailing region,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
Carnival Legend will also offer 38 seven- and eight-day Alaska voyages in 2017 and 2018, including seven week-long Glacier Bay cruises next year – the most voyages by Carnival to this region.
The seven- and eight-day voyages operate either roundtrip from Seattle, or from Vancouver to Seattle and include port calls in Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Victoria in British Columbia. The ship will also spend a full day cruising in either Tracy Arm Fjord or Glacier Bay.
