Passengers sailing on Carnival Cruise Line’s Australia-based Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend will be able to access cheaper and faster internet and social media packages this month.
Carnival’s new value plan offer guests unlimited access to the internet to enable them to check e-mail, sports scores, weather updates and access a wide range of extra apps, while the premium package provides the fastest available connection speed and also supports video calls on Skype. The social media package provides unlimited access to popular sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat from AUS$15 a day. Additional discounted plans are also available for the entire cruise duration.
“Access to flexible and affordable internet is really important for many of our guests. We know that they want to keep in touch with their friends and families and they also want to keep them posted on how much fun they're having at sea,” said Jennifer Vandekreeke, Carnival’s vice president. “With this in mind we’ve tailored our packages to focus on the social media sites and apps that our guests use most and ramped up our bandwidth to give our guests unprecedented internet access at sea, which means they can now upload as many selfies as they like and easily check in to all the fantastic ports they visit during their cruise.”
The new internet packages follow the 2015 launch of Carnival’s Selfies at Sea app, which collates a series of onboard photos into a mini-movie to be shared on social media channels.
