Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Dream has arrived at her new Port of New Orleans homeport and will begin her year-round Caribbean service on 14 April.
The 3,646-passenger Carnival Dream is the largest ship to homeport in the city to date and joins Carnival Elation, which is also based year-round at the port. Together, the two ships will carry more than 4000,000 passengers annually.
Carnival Dream’s New Orleans debut will be commemorated with a traditional maritime plaque exchange between Carnival and port officials during an onboard ceremony on 14 April. The vessel will then depart on a six-day inaugural cruise.
New Orleans recently carried out a US$2.3 million upgrade project at its Erato Street Cruise Terminal to accommodate the 130,000 gt Carnival Dream.
