Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Spirit has returned to operations in Barcelona, Spain, following a month-long dry dock refurbishment.
Carnival Spirit is now home to the cruise line’s 14th Heroes Tribute Bar, which offers active-duty military and veterans a place to gather when sailing with Carnival Cruise Line.
“The new Heroes Tribute Bar and all the other upgrades to Carnival Spirit are part of our ongoing effort to continually enhance our existing fleet with features we know our guests appreciate and enjoy,” said Lisa McCabe, vice president of refurbishments at Carnival Cruise Line.

During the refurbishment, the Cloud 9 spa, fitness centre and retail shops onboard Carnival Spirit were also refreshed, while the casino was given a new look, layout and gaming machines. A new mini golf course was created and all the youth programme areas onboard were upgraded.

The ship is currently sailing the first of two consecutive one-way cruises, the first of which crosses the Atlantic Ocean arriving in Miami, Florida, on 30 March. The ship will then spend 15 days repositioning to Seattle, Washington, via the Panama Canal, after which it will offer Alaska itineraries for the summer season. In September, the ship will sail a 15-day round-trip ‘Carnival Journeys’ cruise from Seattle to Hawaii and a one-way voyage from Seattle to New Orleans, Louisiana in October before returning to its seasonal homeport of Mobile, Alabama.
