Half a million passengers have now sailed on Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend since they debuted in Australia in 2012.

The line’s 500,000th passengers were Briohney and Matt Anderson and their two young sons from Sydney, who were sailing on Carnival Spirit’s 11-night New Caledonia cruise. This is the family’s first cruise holiday.

To mark the milestone, Carnival presented the family with a cake and balloons.

“Carnival’s free-spirited, family friendly fun is a fantastic match with Australians’ outgoing and relaxed nature so our local ships consistently receive some of the top passenger ratings in the fleet,” said Jennifer Vandekreeke, Carnival’s vice president of Australasia. “We’re thrilled that thanks to the support of our repeat guests and new cruisers like the Andersons, we're now on our way to welcoming a million guests onboard.”
