Celebrity Cruises has developed 70 new shore excursions, which include bespoke ‘Private Journeys’, premium ‘Celebrity Exclusives’ and four new experience categories designed to appeal to various types of travellers.
Celebrity’s new shore excursions include exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences at world famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, as well as interactive wellness experiences, such as a tour of the Jewell Gardens in Alaska, US.
One of the four experience options is the ‘Uniquely Celebrity’ adventures. These include the chance to enjoy a day as a Sultan in Istanbul, Turkey; participate in a Ferrari adventure in Cannes, France; and row across glaciers in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Alternatively, guests can choose the ‘Lifestyle and Wellness’ excursions, which include a guided nature walk in Melbourne, Australia, and an interactive wellness experience in Skagway, Alaska.
Meanwhile, those choosing the ‘Culture and Locale’ adventures will be able to enjoy excursions such as a live concert at the 14th century Basilica del Pi in Barcelona, Spain; and an evening of classical music, champagne and rare works of art at the Faberge Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The ‘Family’ experiences will include sightseeing opportunities and competitive adventures such as a family Flamenco dance-off in Barcelona; a sailing and mini regatta experience in Kings Wharf, Bermuda; and a castle and treasure hunt in Copenhagen, Denmark.
“Our guests’ passions are rooted in interests as diverse as the world itself, and our new shore excursion programme will give holidaymakers the chance to fulfil their love of food, art, relaxation, adventure and more in must-see, global destinations,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises. “We’ve closely collaborated with local experts to shape a programme that will further enrich guests’ experience and connect them more closely to the exciting places that we sail to.”
