Celebrity Cruises is introducing a new lineup of entertainment for its upcoming ship, Celebrity Ascent, including a nightlife experience on the Resort Deck, six new live productions, interactive gaming events and live performances in venues across the ship.
Celebrity has worked with an ensemble of choreographers, directors and producers, including British creative Liam Lunniss, to develop the collection of performances and experiences for the ship.

With elements our guests love plus some new surprises, Ascent offers something for everyone and adds to the memories they will have for a lifetime.”
The ’Ascent After Dark: Shine the Night’ experience will take place on the Resort Deck, featuring live performances, a prism light show and a DJ. Guests will be invited to wear metallic attire for the open-air, nighttime experience.
The Theatre on Celebrity Ascent will feature three new production shows, which will use new technological effects including kinetic lighting, lasers and image magnification to display real-time live performances on a large LED screen, alongside singers, dancers and speciality artists.
The new shows include ‘Awaken’, a contemporary production heavily featuring technology intended to take guests “through a showcase of surreal dreams”. ‘Residency’ is a high-energy concert production inspired by Las Vegas residencies, celebrating artists from Elvis to Lady Gaga, Cher, U2 and Bruno Mars. Finally, ‘Bridges’ will be a “feel-good, uplifting celebration of human connection” set against the backdrop of the world’s famous bridges and featuring an automated bridge onstage as the centrepiece.
In The Club, meanwhile, Ascent will introduce another new show, ‘Smoke & Ivories’. The set will feature projection technology alongside dance and vocal performances to create the atmosphere of an old Hollywood club with a modern twist.
Gaming and interactive activities will also be offered onboard Celebrity Ascent, including ‘Game On’, a multiplayer, 80s-inspired competition where players will compete on game surface projected on the floor of The Club. The ‘Guilty Pleasures’ party will invite guests to sing along to a road trip playlist, while ‘Sands of Time’ is a new tabletop escape-style game where guests will work in teams to unlock a mystery through a series of puzzles and clues. Celebrity’s resident visual artist will also lead Sketch Art Classes for everyone from beginners to advanced sketchers.
Celebrity Ascent’s musicians will also present two new live concert-style celebrations: ‘Funkified’, a journey through the evolution of funk music through the years; and ‘Discoteque’, a party in The Club with a playlist of classic Disco songs.
