The 2025 cruise season at the Port of Thessaloniki in Greece has begun, for the second consecutive year, with the arrival of Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Infinity.
The first cruise ship of the year arrived for an overnight stay, with representatives from the Region of Central Macedonia, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization and the Port of Thessaloniki welcoming visitors with informative material about Thessaloniki and traditional local sweets.
Celebrity Cruises has now included Thessaloniki in its itineraries for three consecutive years, with Celebrity Infinity expected to visit the port 21 times in 2025, eight of which will be overnight stays.

In total, 20 different cruise ships from 14 cruise companies will sail to Thessaloniki, including 10 vessels making their maiden call to the port. The first call of Viking’s newly-built ship, Viking Star, is expected on 6 February, while Astoria Grande, Emerald Cruises and the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are including Thessaloniki in their itineraries for the first time.
“The Port of Thessaloniki offers the advantage of being a homeport in the heart of a unique destination, with direct access to global landmarks,” said Athanasios Liagkos, executive chairman of the board of directors at the Port of Thessaloniki. “The continuous enhancement of the services and infrastructure of the Port of Thessaloniki solidifies the trust of the cruise companies that choose it, promoting Thessaloniki and the wider region as an ideal cruise destination. A typical example for 2025 is Crystal Cruises, which includes Thessaloniki as a homeport in the itineraries of the Crystal Symphony, as part of its commitment to offer exceptional experiences to its passengers.”
