Costa Cruises has developed a new programme of family-friendly tours with themed entertainment for guests in various Western Mediterranean destinations, starting this summer.

The programme offers both onshore and onboard experiences and activities and has been designed especially for younger guests and their families as an experiential ‘ship-shore’ bridge.

The programme has two options; the first for children aged three to 13, and the second for those aged 14 to 17. The youngest children will be accompanied by their families on excursions designed to include moments of play, fun and rest, while older children can experience a sense of adventure and independence by exploring under the supervision of Costa animators.

Pre- and post-excursion activities, curated by the team of animators of the Squok Club and the Teens Club, will be available in Savona, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Naples, Palermo and Cagliari in Italy, as well as Barcelona and Valencia in Spain, and Marseille in France.

Costa has also developed an array of onboard entertainment activities to create continuity with the tours in the different destinations. Children will have the opportunity to participate in cooking classes with their parents or participate in workshops, dances and group sports activities.

Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda will both have a dedicated day where mascot Squok guides families through all the experiences, which will culminate with an evening show at the Colosseo.

“Families are a key target group for our offer; in particular, the summer months and itineraries in the Western Mediterranean are among the most popular with families,” said Giuseppe Carino, senior vice president guest experience and onboard sales operations at Costa Cruises. “Thanks to our new proposals, the excursions will become true experiences tailor-made for them, suitable for different age groups, which will have a strong connection with the entertainment activities onboard, so as to create a themed itinerary that will accompany our youngest guests and their families throughout the day, providing unforgettable emotions.”
