Costa Cruises has become the first cruise company to offer day trips to Moscow in Russia.
Starting this May, guests sailing on Costa Luminosa’s seven-day ‘Jewels of the Baltic’ cruises will be able to opt for one of two excursions to Moscow during a two-day stopover in St Petersburg.
Those opting for the ‘Moscow in a day’ tour will take a four-hour trip from St Petersburg to Moscow on the new high-speed Sapsan train and will enjoy an on-train breakfast, a visit to the Kremlin and its Armory Museum, a chance to see St. Basil's Cathedral, leisure time in Red Square, and an on-train dinner.
Alternatively, they can opt for the two-day ‘Super Russia’ excursion, which comprises all of the above, plus a tour of St. Petersburg’s main attractions, including the Winter Palace and St. Isaac's Cathedral. Guests will also be able to enjoy a guided visit of the Peter & Paul Fortress and Cathedral and a two-hour guided tour of the Hermitage, one of the largest museums in the world with around three million items in its collection.
Visas will be included in the price of the excursion, meaning the tours can be booked right up until the day before.
Costa Luminosa’s Baltic itineraries are available until 13 August and sail from Stockholm, Sweden. They include calls in Helsinki, Finland St. Petersburg (two days) and Tallinn, Estonia, before returning for an overnight in Stockholm.
