Costa Cruises’ Costa Luminosa is to join Costa Fascinosa and Costa Pacifica in South America for the winter 2020-2021 season, significantly boosting the cruise line’s capacity in the region.

Costa Luminosa will depart Venice, Italy on 8 November 2020 and sail a transatlantic crossing to Santos, Brazil. The ship will then offer a series of seven-night cruises to Itajai, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Montevideo, Uruguay.

Arriving in Santos following a repositioning cruise that departs Savona, Italy in mid-November, Costa Fascinosa will offer voyages to destinations in the north of Brazil, such as Buzios, Salvador, Ilheus, and Ilha Grande.

Meanwhile, Costa Pacifica will depart Genoa, Italy on 13 November and will then sail itineraries to Argentina, Uruguay, and the southern part of Brazil. Calls are scheduled at Buenos Aires, Montevideo and the Brazilian ports of Ilhabela, Buzios, Rio de Janeiro and Ilha Grande.

“The arrival of Costa Luminosa for the 2020-2021 season reflects Costa Cruises' desire to strategically invest in the South American market, a market with a great potential for growth,” said Dario Rustico, general manager for Central and South America at Costa Cruises. “For this reason, we want to gradually increase our presence in the region.”

All three ships will be repositioned in April 2021.
