Costa Cruises is to overhaul its CostaClub guest loyalty programme, which is now in its fifteenth year.

From 2016, Costa’s most loyal guests will be able to join two new membership clubs and access new benefits, as well as continuing to receive personalised discounts, gifts, services and onboard experiences.

Next year sees the introduction of the Amber Club for first-time cruisers and the Pearl Diamond Club, the most exclusive and level of membership. Members will benefit from home luggage pick-up and delivery, immediate embarkation, ‘super upgrade’ when buying an additional cruise and the ability to purchase an internal cabin and travel in a suite. While onboard, they will have free access to the Club Restaurant throughout their cruise, access to a personalised minibar, front row theatre reservations, dedicated excursions with limited number of participants and a 20% discount on Privilege Departures for the 2016 programme.

“The new CostaClub is one of the biggest investments in ideas, energy and resources that Costa is developing, based on passion for innovation and for people, providing the inspiration for our work every single day that, as always, puts our guests and their desires in the spotlight,” said Neil Palomba, Costa president. “We listened to, gathered together and fully analysed the opinions and needs of CostaClub members and worked hard with all onboard personnel and travel agents, our partners during the first meeting of the Agorà project, with the objective of creating the best system of benefits in the cruise world.”

Reward points will also be calculated differently in 2016. Points will be given based on the cruises guests have taken over the past three years, while base points for each cruise day will be accredited and incremented according to the type of cabin selected. Costs for Costa-related airfare and onboard expenses will also contribute to accumulating points. This will enable guests to progress through the club levels much quicker.
