Costa Cruises’ Costa Fascinosa provided support for a medical emergency onboard a fishing boat in the Adriatic Sea in the early hours of 29 July.

While Costa Fascinosa was sailing from Venice to Bari, Captain Orazio D’Aita received a call from the San Benedetto del Tronto Coast Guard in Italy requesting assistance for a crewman onboard a fishing vessel who was suffering from abdonimal pains.

Altering her route, Costa Fascinosa reached the fishing boat and the crewman was taken onboard to undergo emergency medical treatment. The patient was then transferred to a Coast Guard’s speedboat after about 30 minutes, allowing Costa Fascinoa to resume her seven-day East Mediterranean cruise.
