Costa Cruises’ Costa Mediterranea arrived at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard for a scheduled drydock on 21 November.
During the €4 million drydock, which will end on 4 December, the 2,680-passenger ship will undergo routine maintenance checks and repairs. This will include cleaning and repainting the hull, performing engine maintenance, and replacing the carpets, curtains, upholstery and other items in the ship’s hotel section.
Costa Mediterranea will depart from Savona, Italy on 6 December and sail a transatlantic cruise to Guadalupe, its new winter 2013-2014 homeport. Once in Guadeloupe, the ship will offer seven-day cruises to various Caribbean islands.
