River cruise operator CroisiEurope has chartered Star of Luxor for a new seven-night itinerary on the River Nile.
The ‘Cruise on The Nile: The Land of the Pharaohs’ itinerary is a roundtrip from Luxor in Egypt and will be available from March to December 2025 and February to December 2026. It offers shore excursions enabling passengers to discover temples, tombs, pyramids and Egyptian villages in the Nile Valley.
Cruise highlights include The Karnak Temple Complex, which is one of the largest religious complexes in ancient Egypt; The Temple of Horus, which is considered to be one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt; and The Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek (the crocodile god) and Haroeris (Horus the Elder) and restored by Jacques de Morgan in 1893. Excursions also include a visit to The Philae Temple Complex which dates back to 380 BC, The Aswan Dam and a boat tour between the granite islands and natural reserves, passing close to the island of Elephantine. Passengers also have the option to visit the rock temples of Abu Simbel, which were built by King Ramses II.
CroisiEurope is also offering a four-day optional pre-cruise programme following the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which has been under construction for almost two decades and has been gradually opening since 2022. The programme will include visits to Cairo’s Coptic district, thel Giza Plateau with the pyramids and the Sphinx, the Pyramid of Cheops and the Saqqara necropolis with its entrance to the Pyramid of Teti, as well as entry to the museum, which has 12 galleries depicting the story of ancient Egypt.
Star of Luxor accommodates 106 guests in 45 exterior cabins and eight suites. The ship also features a restaurant, a lounge/bar, a library and a large sun deck with swimming pool and a jacuzzi. There will also be an Egyptologist lecturer onboard.
