Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess is set to become the first UK-based ship to offer Carnival Corporation’s Ocean Medallion technology this July.
The 3,080-guest Crown Princess has just arrived in Southampton, UK to begin offering voyages to ports in the British Isles, Scandinavia, the Norwegian Fjords, the Mediterranean and mainland Europe. From 24 July, passengers sailing on the ship will be able to enjoy full personalised cruise experiences thanks to the Ocean Medallion, which can be worn or carried to anticipate their every onboard need.
Ocean Medallion gives guests access to personalised dining experiences, interactive entertainment and games, wayfinding capabilities, transaction-free payments and expedited embarkation and disembarkation. Other benefits include touch-free access to staterooms, enhanced interactions with crew members and other guests, and the ability to connect to portals throughout the ship to see a real-time overview of shipboard events and activities. This experience is already available on Caribbean Princess, Regal Princess and Royal Princess, and it will be offered on the new Sky Princess when she debuts on 20 October.
Crown Princess will homeport in Southampton until September, when she will reposition to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to sail Caribbean roundtrips. The vessel will return to Southampton from May-November 2020 to offer itineraries to the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and northern Europe.
