Two cruise line familiarisation trips, co-ordinated by Cruise Baltic, have successfully taken place this August.
A number of invited cruise line senior executives with specialisms in itinerary planning and shore excursion purchasing took part in the trips, visiting a number of destinations in Denmark, Finland, Poland and Sweden.
The first trip covered the Baltic Sea region, with visits to Stockholm and Karlskrona in Sweden; Aarhus, Aalborg, Copenhagen, Fredericia and Skagen in Denmark; and Gdansk in Poland.
This trip was attended by Thomson Cruises’ Emma Bean, Rosalind Marshall of Saga, and Christian Ceplak of Viking Cruises.
The second trip travelled from Gothenburg, Sweden, to Helsinki, Finland, via Turku, Mariehamn, Kemi and Kotka.
This trip was attended by Martin Lister of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Rosalind Marshall from Saga, and Claire Spriggs of Thomson Cruises.
“We so appreciate all the effort by our destination partners, which is involved in co-ordinating these familiarisation trips,” said Claus Bødker, director of Cruise Baltic. “I believe they prove invaluable – particularly in terms of knowledge sharing – for both myself and my team at Cruise Baltic and, of course, more importantly, our cruise line guests, who invested the time in joining us. The programme of visits at the destinations was varied and informative. From the positive responses received from the cruise lines, we will certainly be planning more of these trips in the future.”
