Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique welcomed almost 15% more cruise passengers in 2018, according to figures from Grenada Tourism Authority.

Last year, the Caribbean tri-island state welcomed 342,826 cruise passengers, which accounted for just under 65% of the total 528,077 travellers who visited or stayed in Grenada in 2018. The rise has been attributed to larger cruise ships calling at the ports.

“We are delighted to surpass the historic 500,000 mark,” said Patricia Maher, CEO Of Grenada Tourism Authority. “It is a result of our hard work in lobbying airlines for more flights and the engagement of top cruise brand executives for more ship calls. I would like to thank our stakeholders for their support in ensuring our visitors continue to have wonderful experiences in the destination.”
