More than 300,000 passengers visited Cruiseport Boston for the second year in a row in 2011.
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced that the 2011 cruise season saw 107 ships visit Boston, carrying a total of 310,234 travellers. New ships to stop at Boston included the Bermuda ship Norwegian Dawn, the maiden call of Compagnie du Ponant’s luxury yacht LeBoreal and Cunard Line’s Queen Elizabeth.
On 2 October, Cruiseport Boston experienced its busiest day since 2005, with four cruise ships in port at the same time, bringing more than 7,000 passengers to Boston in a single day. This was also the first full season passengers at Cruiseport Boston had an opportunity to enjoy the new US$11 million renovation to the Black Falcon Terminal.
