Cruising has officially returned to the islands of Guernsey after a two-year break with the arrival of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Hanseatic Spirit at St Peter Port.

Disembarking passengers were welcomed by the port’s meet and greet team, who handed out easter eggs and waved the island’s flags. Local guitar trio The Dawberts also provided a live performance as part of the Guernsey Street Festival.

A total of 84 cruise calls are scheduled for the islands in 2022, with over 165,000 passengers expected to visit by 25 October. MSC Cruises’ MSC Virtuosa, Royal Caribbean International’s Jewel of the Seas and Ambassador Cruise Line’s new ship, Ambience, are among the ships that will make stops at the port.
