Crystal Cruises has expanded the number of ‘You Care, We Care’ shore excursions in 2015.
This year, guests will be able to take part in the line’s popular humanitarian and conservation activities as part of 16 Crystal Adventures, more than ever before. The activities will be available on more than 24 of Crystal’s 2015 worldwide sailings.
“The tremendous response to the ‘You Care, We Care’ programme continues to delight us, as our guests are savvy world travellers who relish the type of deeply immersive and authentic cultural education experienced during these excursions,” said Edie Rodriguez, Crystal’s president. “The act of contributing to the world in which we all travel is extremely rewarding for everyone.”
Highlights of the programme include the opportunity to assist the elderly and infirm residents at Domus Christi in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and the chance to work alongside community members and volunteers at the Mustard Seed Food Bank in New Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
Similarly, in the US city of California, guests can help non-profit organisation Backyard Bounty to gather and organise fresh produce for food banks in Santa Barbara.
Alternatively, guests can work with researchers at a rehabilitation centre in Barcelona, Spain, to learn more about helping endangered marine life and participate in a training drill for rescuing a stranded dolphin from a beach.
Guests can also spend time at the SOS Children’s Village in Puerto Limón, Costa Rica, or carrying out maintenance work at the Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Guernsey/St Peter Port, Channel Islands.
