Luxury operator Crystal has ordered a new cruise ship from Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. The 61,800gt ship is expected to debut in 2032 and will become the third in the cruise line’s fleet, which already includes Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.
The 690-passenger ship will have a similar design to Crystal’s existing vessels, offering popular features such as a promenade that extends along its entire perimeter.
The ship will also offer passengers a variety of dining options including Umi Uma, the only Nobu at sea, and Beefbar by Riccardo Giraudi, which features dishes created in collaboration with chefs Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo.
Onboard entertainment venues will include Casino de Monte-Carlo, which is set to debut on Crystal Symphony in November 2024 and on Cystal Serenity in December 2024. Guests will be accommodated in suites with private verandas and solo travellers will benefit from a single occupancy category.

Crystal will use the “finest materials and the best craftsmanship” in the ship’s interiors and offer one of the highest crew-to-passenger ratios in the luxury cruise sector.
“Exercising this option and agreeing to build a third ship together showcases the trust and partnership between my family and Fincantieri, dating back to Sitmar Cruises and evolving through Silversea to our present vision with Crystal,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, executive chairman of A&K Travel Group, which acquired Crystal in 2022.
