Crystal River Cruises has developed a range of inclusive shore excursions for Crystal Mozart’s inaugural European season this summer.
Guests will be able to enjoy at least one complimentary excursion in every port, while an alternative complimentary excursion will be available in many ports for travellers who are ‘seeking a different perspective’. In select ports, a morning and afternoon option will be offered to cater for late risers.
Highlights include a visit to the 13th-century Červený Kameň Castle in Bratislava, Slovakia; full-day trips from Linz to either Salzburg or Salzkammergut in Austria; an excursion to Vienna’s pastry cafés with local beer- and win-tasting sessions; and a tour through the Parliament and Great Market Hall, or the Dohány Synagogue and Jewish District in Budapest, Hungary.
Crystal will also be the first river cruise line to offer a full-day trip to Munich in Germany, which will enable guests to visit the 1972 Summer Olympics stadium, the BMW factory, the Friedensengel and National Theatre. It will also be the only cruise operator to take guests to Vienna’s Belvedere Palace for an exclusive evening concert and museum tour.
“While many of the charming ports along Crystal Mozart’s routes are easy to explore on foot or access at one’s leisure, travellers visiting for the first time will benefit from the detailed and expertly guided excursions crafted by our team,” said Edie Rodriguez, Crystal’s president and CEO. “It is our pleasure to offer Crystal Complimentary Adventures with our river voyages as part of the ‘All Inclusive’ Crystal Experience, as we know how greatly these shore-side adventures enhance our guests’ understanding and perception of the destinations.”
Crystal is also introducing a complimentary ‘Active Exploration Adventures’ shore excursion programme, which has been developed by the lie’s fitness instructors. These range from a 1,700ft hike to the top of Pöstlingberg in Linz, to a 16-mile bike ride through the Wachau Valley and two-mile treks through the vineyards of Vienna.
The Crystal Adventures will be enhanced by four new 42-guest luxury motor coaches, which will follow the ships and be accompanied by local guides. The coaches, which will offer complimentary wifi and beverages, will also provide transportation to and from the airport on embarkation and debarkation days.
Crystal Mozart, the first vessel in Crystal River Cruises’ fleet, will embark on her maiden voyage along the Danube this July and will continue to sail itineraries to European capitals along the Danube and the Wachau Valley. The vessel will also offer Christmas Markets itineraries to cities in Austria, Germany and Slovakia from late November and a special itinerary spanning Christmas and New Year.
